Minister Keyamo denies rumours of relocating equipment at Aviation College Zaria

Story from Idris Zaria

Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Mr Festus Keyamo, has clarified that the federal government has no plans of relocating some equipment at Nigerian College of Aviation Technology Zaria.

The minster stated this during an inspection visit to the college in Zaria, Kaduna State.

Mr Keyamo debunked rumours that the present administration would relocate some training equipment to other parts of the country.

The minister pointed out that President Bola Tinubu is committed to improving the aviation industry due to its significance in national and global development.

He added that Nigerian College of Aviation Technology Zaria is the pioneer aviation college in Africa and has contributed to producing thousands of aviation workers across the globe.

Mr Keyamo, during the inspection, visited the fire training simulator, Integrated Procedure Training, IPT, and the famous Zaria hotel that was recently purchased by the college management to be used by students as hostels and other purposes.

In an interview, the acting Rector Nigerian College of Aviation Technology Zaria, Mr Emmanuel Ogwenigwe, expressed confidence that the minster’s visit is a clear indication that there is no plan to relocate some training equipment to other part of the country.

Mr Emmanuel stressed the need for the federal government to do more to support the college to maintain the standard of the aviation industry to compete globally.

A few weeks ago, the House of Representative Committee on Aviation visited the college on an assessment and inspection visit to ensure that there is no plan to relocate some equipment to another part of the country.
