‘Misleading’: Remi Tinubu refutes claims of organising national prayer

First Lady Oluremi Tinubu has strongly refuted claims that she is organising a national prayer session to address Nigeria’s economic challenges.

Rumours circulating on various media platforms suggested that the First Lady, in collaboration with others, was planning a nationwide prayer for the country. However, Busola Kukoyi, the spokesperson for the First Lady, has dismissed these claims as misleading and false.

In a statement issued on Saturday, Kukoyi clarified, “This is to inform the general public that the First Lady of Nigeria, Her Excellency, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, is not organising a National Prayer. The news circulating on social and conventional media is unfounded and misleading. We urge everyone who has come across such claims to disregard them as false.”

While denying the rumours, Kukoyi also highlighted the First Lady’s strong belief in the power of prayer and her understanding of its importance for Nigeria. She noted, “Although the First Lady, a devout Christian and advocate for prayer, believes that praying for Nigeria is an important responsibility, it should be done willingly and conscientiously. She believes that all Nigerians, regardless of their religious or political beliefs, should take part in praying for the country.”

Kukoyi also urged the public to verify any news or event related to the First Lady through official channels, ensuring that information is accurate and reliable.
