My case is in court, you cannot probe or impeach me – Zamfara State Deputy Governor

Zamfara State Deputy Governor, Alhaji Mahadi Aliyu Gusau, has told members of Zamfara State House of Assembly that he has gone to court over the move to impeach him, and as such nobody has the power to probe or impeach him.
“They cannot go ahead with the impeachment process, because the issue is before a court of law,” he told the press in Gusau during a media chat.
It could be recalled that since the state’s governor left for APC, leaving his Deputy in PDP a move has been initiated to impeach the Deputy Governor”.
18 members of the State House of Assembly have voted for the impeachment move, following which the Chief Justice of the State, Justice Kulu Haruna inaugurated an investigative panel to probe the Deputy Governor in line with the procedure for impeachment.

But embattled Deputy Governor reacted in what he called the ‘Drama in Zamfara State’, he noted that the lawmakers will be acting as illiterates if they continue with the impeachment move. I have heard that the CJ had inaugurated a panel to investigate me, this is not possible because the issue is before the court of law.
The Deputy Governor who is a lawyer told the Assembly members that they lack the power to continue with the move to impeach him, and there is a limit to what the house can do because Mahmud Aliyu Gusau is a lawyer. God is great we came into office through a court process, and today we are trying to disobey the court, that is why he is calling the panel a Kangaroo panel.
The CJ went ahead to inaugurate the panel when she knew that she has been the Chief Judge in Zamfara for 15-years. With vast knowledge and integrity, she is allowing illiterates to do what is wrong which is shameful. if I joined APC today that would be the end of the story nobody will probe me again.
The offences against the Deputy Governor are: Abuse of office, criminal self-enrichment using public funds, and failure to discharge official duties, which include breach of sections 190, 193, (1), (2), (a)(b)(c) of the constitution of Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended, this impeachable. according to the law.
