Newly appointed governor’s aide dies 24 hours after swearing-in

Kano State has been plunged into mourning following the sudden death of Ahmad Bunkure, the newly appointed Special Adviser on Works, just 24 hours after his swearing-in.

Bunkure passed away on Wednesday in Egypt, as confirmed in a statement by Sunusi DawakinTofa, spokesperson for Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.

Governor Yusuf expressed profound grief over the tragic loss, describing it as irreplaceable for the state, Bunkure’s family, and the political community.

“This is a heartbreaking moment for us as a government. Bunkure was a dedicated professional whose expertise and contributions were expected to drive our administration’s vision for development. His loss is deeply felt,” Yusuf said in the statement.

The governor prayed for Allah’s mercy on the deceased and strength for his family to endure the painful loss.
