Niger Coup: Military Chiefs from Nigeria, Ghana, Togo, others meet in Abuja 

 

Military chiefs from Nigeria, Ghana, Togo among others arrived Abuja, Wednesday in view of the current situation in Niger Republic as there seems to be no backing down by the military in Niger after taking over power despite one-week ultimatum given by the heads of government of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) on Sunday.

According to reports, the military chiefs are having a high-powered delegation meeting at the the Defence Headquarters in Abuja in view of the coup in the West African country.

Also present are military heads from Sierra Leone, Senegal, Liberia, Guinea, Gambia, Cote’Divoire, Cape Verde and Republic of Benin.

The meeting is being chaired by the chairman of ECOWAS military chief, General Christopher Musa.
