NLC, TUC declare Imo strike over Ajaero; nationwide action Nov 14

 

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and their counterparts in the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC) have announced an immediate and comprehensive strike in Imo State effective from midnight today.

This decision was reached during an ‘extraordinary’ National Executive Council (NEC) meeting held earlier today.

The strike has been called in response to the recent attack and assault on NLC President Joe Ajaero and other labour leaders last Wednesday, among other pressing concerns.

Additionally, they have resolved to initiate a nationwide strike by Tuesday, November 14, if their demands are not addressed.
