Shettima humorously stated, “We will not retire him to Dubai or Morocco, but maybe to Fombina. I will even buy him goats, broilers, and layers so that he can spend his days rearing them.”

Shettima made these comments while addressing journalists shortly after the court, led by Justice Haruna Tsammani, affirmed Tinubu’s election as president.

He acknowledged the presence and support of party leaders, including the energetic chairman, national secretary, members of the national assembly, and ministers throughout the proceedings.

Expressing his deep appreciation towards Nigerians, the vice-president emphasised that President Tinubu is forever indebted to the Nigerian people and the party’s leadership.

While a formal statement would be released by Tinubu, Shettima felt compelled to share their gratitude after spending almost 15 hours in the courtroom.

Shettima called for unity among Nigerians, stating that their common challenges must be faced together. He believed that the trajectory of global growth holds great significance for Africa and Nigeria as the largest black nation on earth.

The vice-president concluded by commending the judiciary for upholding justice and fairness against deceptive forces.
