Nurul Huda Academy trains Gombe community members on cosmetology

As part of its social responsibilities, a private school in Gombe State called Nurul Huda International Academy has trained 30 members of its host community ‘Wuro Liman’ on making cosmetological items.

Speaking during the closing ceremony of the training held at the school’s premises yesterday, director of the school Hajiya Maryam Ahmed Abubakar explained that the community members received two weeks rigorous training on cosmetology.

She said the trainees were taught on how to make soaps, disinfectants, pomades and incenses amongst others.

According to her, the school also targets 70 other members of the community for training on other skills including tailoring and shoemaking.

“The programme was organised as part of the corporate social responsibility of the school. Our beneficiaries were drawn from the immediate locality Wuro Liman and it was announced for any one interested to pick a form indicating area of interest.

“The programme objective is to train 100 youths in the locality with relevant entrepreneurship skills and financial literacy”. She stated.

Responding, some of the beneficiaries Abubakar Shuaibu and Mardiyya Adamu Muhammad expressed appreciation to the school and promised to make good use of the skills acquired.
