Discipline triumphs over heat and haste as massive crowd fills SDP Eid Ground in Suleja
The Eid prayer ground in Suleja witnessed a remarkable display of discipline, unity, and devotion as worshippers gathered in large numbers to mark Eid al-Fitr.As early as 9:00 a.m., an hour ahead of the scheduled 10:00 a.m. prayer, the ground was already filled with expectant faithful.
Despite the intense heat, attendees remained calm and attentive, patiently listening to the pre-khutbah lecture without disruption.
This year’s atmosphere stood in stark contrast to previous celebrations, where impatience had led to complaints and interruptions during sermons. Instead, the mood was one of joy and gratitude, with worshippers dressed in vibrant attire, their smiles reflecting the successful completion of the 30-day Ramadan fast.
The Imam arrived promptly at 10:00 a.m., and the Eid prayer commenced without delay, followed by the khutbah.
In his sermon, he emphasized the importance of mutual responsibility within families, urging men and women alike to uphold their duties to one another.
He also called on the youth to resist negative influences and avoid being drawn into actions that could harm society.
While many congregants departed shortly after the prayer, others remained behind to listen attentively to the Imam’s message, which, though brief, left a lasting impression.
