ADC demands INEC Chairman to resign over alleged partisanship
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has called for the immediate resignation of the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Joash Amupitan, along with all national commissioners of the electoral body.
The demand was made by the party’s National Chairman, David Mark, during a world press conference held in Abuja on Thursday.
Mark accused the electoral commission’s leadership of compromising its neutrality, alleging that it has become a tool in the hands of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
He warned that recent developments in the country’s political landscape could pave the way for a one-party system if not urgently addressed.
The ADC chairman also appealed to the international community to intervene in safeguarding Nigeria’s democracy.
He urged Nigerians to remain vigilant and resist any attempt to undermine democratic principles through actions that could weaken electoral integrity.
