LTR intensifies fight against Pediatric TB with targeted screening in Yobe

The Leprosy and Tuberculosis Relief Initiative (LTR), in partnership with ASA Health Partners and in collaboration with YOSACA, has launched a targeted tuberculosis (TB) screening exercise for children aged 0–10 years in Sabon Gari, Nangere Local Government Area of Yobe State.
The intervention is aimed at addressing the persistent gap in pediatric TB detection by identifying undiagnosed cases early and linking affected children to timely treatment and care.
LTR said the initiative is particularly crucial in high-burden communities where children often face diagnostic challenges and limited access to healthcare services, leaving many cases undetected.
According to the organisation, the screening exercise reflects its commitment to strengthening community-level responses, improving equitable access to healthcare, and accelerating efforts to eliminate tuberculosis in Nigeria.
Through strategic partnerships and grassroots-focused implementation, LTR noted that it remains dedicated to ensuring that vulnerable populations, especially children, are not left behind in the fight against TB.
The initiative also underscores the importance of collaboration among health stakeholders in tackling infectious diseases and promoting inclusive healthcare delivery.
