Plateau women burn Bokkos traditional ruler’s house over attacks

Protesting women on Friday afternoon set ablaze the residence of the District Head of Bokkos town in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau state, Michal Monday Adanchi.

According to a local source, the incident occurred around 12:30 am.

The traditional ruler’s residence and administrative office were both burned down.

After leaving the police station, they proceeded to the house of the traditional ruler, protesting that he was a sellout. A few minutes after reaching the house, they set it ablaze,” the source said.

Soldiers reportedly arrived in the area and dispersed the protesting women.

The spokesperson of the state police command, DSP Alabo Alfred, stated that he would contact the DPO of the area and get back to our correspondent.
