PMB should reappoint Professor Bogoro as TETFUND’s boss – APC stalwart

Story from Najib SANI, Bauchi

As the tenure of the executive secretary of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND) Professor Suleiman Bogoro is about to expire, a stalwart of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bauchi state and former Bauchi state house of assembly aspirant Honourable Muhammed Aliyu Songuy has appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari to reappoint him.

Speaking with journalists Wednesday, Aliyu claimed that since the inception of Buhari’s administration, Bogoro remained the most successful executive secretary of TETFUND.

He recalled that when Bogoro was suspended over some allegations, he was reinstated in January 2019 after being cleared and acquitted by the federal ministry of education.

According to him, Bogoro was the only public officer in recent time that was investigated in the country, found, to be honest, and restored to his position.

Aliyu who was a one-time student leader said Buhari needs people of honesty, integrity, and discipline to succeed hence the need for him to retain such people like Bogoro in his administration.

“Aside from being incorruptible, Professor Suleiman Bogoro has proven to be competent and has achieved a lot in his tenure by transforming our universities and polytechnics. TETFUND under him has addressed infrastructural deficits in our institutions.

“I, therefore, think that any public officer that is doing well should be retained by the president for APC is here to bring positive changes in the nation. The president cannot do it alone no matter how determined he is. He must have a good team to deliver”. He advised.
