Police barricade PDP National Secretariat as tensions rise
Security operatives have sealed off the Wadata Plaza headquarters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abuja, following Tuesday’s dramatic events at the party office.
The police ordered an indefinite closure of the building and deployed personnel to enforce the shutdown, sending staff away and warning party members to stay clear of the premises.
A team of officers, believed to be from the Works Department of the FCT Police Command, was seen cordoning off the secretariat with iron barbed wire as part of the security measures.

Recall that on Tuesday, crisis erupted at the PDP headquarters in Abuja when the sweeping expulsions come just days after a contentious national convention in Ibadan, where Wike and his supporters were themselves removed from the party.
Tensions reached a boiling point on Tuesday at the PDP national secretariat in Wadata Plaza, Abuja, as the rival factions clashed while attempting to hold parallel NEC and Board of Trustees meetings, further deepening the uncertainty surrounding the party’s leadership and direction.
