Police in Bauchi arrest woman harbouring criminals, 2 robbery suspects (Pictures)

Bauchi State Police Command has arrested one woman allegedly harbouring criminals, two thieves and armed robbery suspects at her residence.

Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Mohammed Ahmed Wakil stated this on Thursday in Bauchi.

He said, “the Command Operatives attached to Bureau acting on credible information arrested one Sadiya Mohammed Yaro AKA Sadiya Kaura ‘f’ aged 28 years of Kofar Dumi area of Bauchi metro. The suspect on several occasions has been harbouring criminals in her residence at Kofar Dumi.

“Also, immediately after the attack of Komiti office in Bauchi metro, she made some audio publication hailing the hoodlums and supporting them.”

The police also arrested two suspects namely; Yakubu Hussaini AKA Abba Laba ‘m’ aged 20 years of Kofar Dumi and Bashir Ibrahim AKA Bashoo ‘m’ aged 23 years of the same address. The above-mentioned suspects are among the notorious armed robbers who terrorised Bauchi, Gombe, Plateau and Kaduna states”.

“The suspects have escaped from lawful custody sometime in the year 2019. Also, the suspects engaged themselves among those attacked Komiti office in Zango and Kofar Dumi area of Bauchi. The suspects will be profiled and charge to court,” the officer said.

Spokesman of the Police Command also stated that the Operatives of the Command Bureau acting on credible information arrested two other suspects namely; Kabiru Adamu ‘m’ aged 25 years of IGBO Quarters, Bauchi metro and Markus Kyala ‘m’ aged 45 years of Bigi Village.

The suspects went to Bauchi State Development Board where 650 tricycles (Keke Napep) purchased by the State government for disbursement.

He said, “the suspects conspired among themselves and stole 127 spare tyres of the Keke Napep, some of the spare tyres were recovered from the suspects.”

Wakil said that investigation is on-going on all the cases after which suspects will be charged to court for prosecution.

He reiterated the commitment of the Commissioner of Police, Lawal Tanko Jimeta to protect lives and properties in the State.

Wakil cautions the youths against keeping unscrupulous and destructive friends. And also enjoin citizens in the State to promote moral values and shun all forms of crime and criminality.
