President Tinubu to embark on state visit to France

President Bola Tinubu will travel to France on Wednesday for a state visit, following an invitation from President Emmanuel Macron, the presidency has announced.

According to a statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu will be received on Thursday at the historic French military museum, Les Invalides, and the Palais de l’Élysée by Macron and his wife, Brigitte, for ceremonial events, which will be followed by bilateral meetings.

The three-day visit aims to strengthen Nigeria’s political, economic, and cultural ties with France, focusing on key sectors including agriculture, security, education, health, youth engagement, employment, innovation, and energy transition. The discussions will also cover finance, trade, investments, solid minerals, and communications.

Additionally, the First Ladies will hold talks on empowering women, children, and vulnerable populations through Nigeria’s Renewed Hope Initiative.

President Tinubu will be accompanied by his wife and senior government officials, and they will be hosted by the French President at a state dinner before their departure.
