Residents of Tudun Yola in Gwale Local Government Area of Kano State are in shock following the brutal murder of two women and the burning of their home by unidentified attackers.
The victims, Hauwa’u Yakubu and Zahra’u Aliyu, were both wives of Alhaji Ashiru Shu’aibu Usaini. According to reports, the assailants stabbed one of the women before setting the house on fire.
Anas Shu’aibu, a stepson of the deceased, recounted that the attack occurred around noon on Wednesday while his father and brothers were away at work.

“We didn’t realize anything was wrong until my father called me at night, asking me to come home. When we arrived, we found one of the women’s bodies outside, burnt, while the other was trapped inside the bathroom. When we finally forced the door open, we discovered she had also been killed,” he said.
Initially, the family believed the fire was accidental, but further investigation revealed it was a deliberate attack.
Alhaji Ashiru expressed profound grief over the loss of his wives and prayed for their souls. He also called on security agencies to identify and apprehend the perpetrators. “They killed my wives and set one of them on fire. I still don’t understand why they would commit such a cruel act,” he lamented.
