Retired Colonel Yandoto kidnapped in Zamfara

 

A large number of suspected armed bandits have kidnapped Col. Lawal Rabi’u Yandoto (rtd).

Yandoto was on his way from Gusau to his home town Yandoto in Tsafe local government area of Zamfara state when he was abducted, according to Blueprint

A resident from the area who pleaded to remain anonymous , told Blueprint via telephone interview that two of his children alongside two other persons who were together with him were also kidnapped.

According to him, the bandits ambushed the retired Colonel at around 6:00pm on Sunday and kidnapped him along with his two children and two other victims.

“We heard sporadical gun shot very close to our Yandoto town and everybody started running Helter skelter for our safety.”

He added that the community realized that the retired army officer was abducted immediately after the gunshots.

Meanwhile efforts to get response from the state police command spokesperson, SP. Muhammad Shehu, proved abortive as at the time of compiling the report.
