Kwara State Abduction Crisis: Families identify loved ones in disturbing video showing 176 kidnapped villagers pleading for help

Residents of affected communities in Kwara State have identified their relatives in a video released by suspected bandits showing 176 abducted villagers.

The victims were reportedly kidnapped during recent attacks on rural communities, sparking fear and tension across the area. In the footage circulating online, the abductees were seen seated in an open area while some of them appealed for help and called on authorities and well-meaning Nigerians to intervene for their release.

Family members who viewed the video confirmed recognising their loved ones, expressing mixed emotions of relief and anguish. While they were thankful to see the captives alive, they lamented the worsening insecurity and called for urgent action from security agencies.
