Samuel Ogbemudia and Hassan Usman Katsina: A brotherhood of courage

Hassan Usman Katsina, titled Chiroman Katsina, was a Nigerian general who served as the last Governor of Northern Nigeria.
Born on March 31, 1933, he joined the Nigerian Army in 1956 and rose through the ranks, becoming Chief of Army Staff during the Nigerian Civil War and later serving as Deputy Chief of Staff, Supreme Headquarters.
He passed away on July 24, 1995.
Samuel Ogbemudia was a Nigerian army officer and politician. Born on September 17, 1932, he joined the Nigerian Army in 1957 and rose to the rank of brigadier-general.

He served as the military governor of Mid-West State (later Bendel State) from 1967 to 1975 and was elected civilian governor of Bendel State in 1983. He passed away on March 9, 2017.
