Security agents brutally assault, strip young lady (Video)
A distressing video has emerged online, sparking widespread outrage after it showed armed operatives of Anambra State’s government-backed vigilante group, Agunechemba (also known as Udogachi), savagely assaulting a young woman believed to be a youth corps member in Oba, Idemili South Local Government Area.
In the viral footage, the operatives are seen flogging and slapping the helpless woman while tearing her clothes in public. She can be heard screaming in pain, repeatedly crying out “please, please,” as she pleads for her life. Many Nigerians have condemned the inhumane treatment.

The cause of the assault is not yet clear. However, a social media user named Iyke Orji, who first raised the alarm on Facebook, alleged that the vigilantes were raiding the area to target suspected internet fraudsters, often called “Yahoo Boys,” when the young woman was allegedly attacked.
Observers have condemned the assault as a shameful abuse of power. Commentators noted that the victim “could have been anyone’s daughter, sister, neighbour or friend.”

As of the time of this report, neither the Anambra State Police Command nor the state government has officially reacted to the viral video.
