Seriki of Hausa Community’s brother, 2 others kidnapped in Osun regain freedom

The younger brother of Seriki of Hausa Community, identified as Usman, and two others who were kidnapped along the Ilesha/Ife expressway have regained freedom.

The trio was said to have been kidnapped at Osu community in the headquarters of Atakumosa West after which the gunmen contacted the Seriki of Iyere, Haruna Tanko, demanding N50 million as a ransom.

The identities of the other two victims could not be immediately ascertained. The victims were said to have been taken to a forest in Osu after their vehicle was intercepted by the gunmen.

Seriki Hausa of Iyere Community, Haruna Tanko, had confirmed the abduction of his brother, saying he did not know the other two victims.

“It is true that my brother, Usman was abducted by gunmen. They demanded ransom, but we have not been able to raise the money. however, while speaking with newsmen, Seriki Tanko disclosed that the three have been released by the suspected gunmen.

The Public Relations Officer of Nigeria Police, Osun Command, Yemisi Opalola, could not be reached to confirm the incident as her number was not available.
