Sokoto varsity sacks 3 senior staff over sexual harassment, others

Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto (UDUS) has terminated the employment of three senior staff members for violating the institution’s code of conduct, citing gross misconduct, which included altering academic results, sexual harassment, and abandoning their duties.

The dismissal was approved during the university’s 171st regular meeting on March 12, 2025, according to the spokesperson, Ismail Yauri.

Yauri said the disciplinary action was in line with UDUS’s stringent “zero tolerance” policy for unethical behaviour.

“The affected persons have already been served notice of the dismissal,” Yauri said.
“This decision underscores the institution’s dedication to maintaining academic integrity and ensuring a safe environment for both staff and students.”
