The Intellectual Property Lawyers Association Nigeria (IPLAN) has filed a lawsuit seeking a declaration that Bata dance is the root source of Salsa Dance. According to Lead Counsel to the Association, Mr Folarin Aluko of Trumann Rockwood Solicitors who spoke to newsmen in Osogbo, Osun State, said that traditional knowledge is recognized as a specie of Intellectual Property unique to each and every civilization.
