Former speaker of the House of Representatives, Right Honourable Yakubu Dogara has been conferred with the traditional title of Jarma Tikau by the Tikau Emirate Council, Nangere Local Government in Yobe state.

In an appointment letter signed by the Galadiman Tiakau, Alhaji Muhammadu Sambo Sarki on behalf of His Royal Highness, Mai Tikau, Alhaji (Dr) Muhammadu Abubakar Ibn Grema and made available to newsmen on Wednesday it is indicated that date for his official turbanning will be released soon and that the title was conferred on him following his support and contributions to the development of the education sector.

In a thanksgiving note to the Monarch, Honourable Dogara noted that it is a great honour to be conferred with the revered traditional title of JARMAN TIKAU, by His Royal Highness, Mai Tikau of Nangere LGA, Yobe State, Alhaji (Dr), Muhammadu Abubakar Ibn Grema and grateful to His Royal Highness, Sons and Daughters of the Emirate, Government and people of Yobe State for the revered title.
