US deports ex-gang member after violent crime convictions

The United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has confirmed that a Nigerian national, Ibrahim Tunde Ijaoba, is currently in its custody pending deportation after a final removal order was issued against him.
In a statement posted on its official X (formerly Twitter) account on Monday, ICE described Ijaoba as a criminal illegal immigrant with a long record of violent offences committed in the United States.
According to the agency, Ijaoba entered the US unlawfully and later became a member of the Bloods, a notorious street gang known for violent criminal activities.
“Ibrahim Tunde Ijaoba is a criminal illegal alien from Nigeria and a former member of the Bloods — a notoriously violent street gang,” ICE stated.
The agency said his criminal history includes convictions for aggravated assault on a police officer with a firearm, assault and aggravated assault, armed robbery, obstruction, drug trafficking, and escape from police custody.

ICE noted that these convictions formed the legal basis for his removal from the country, adding that he remains in custody while awaiting deportation.
The Bloods gang is widely known in the United States for its involvement in violent crimes, drug trafficking, and armed robbery.
