West Ham’s new manager Lopetegui vows to make big noise

Julen Lopetegui, the new manager of West Ham, has promised to create a “big noise” at the London Stadium following his appointment by the Premier League club.

The former Real Madrid boss has signed a two-year contract with the option for a third season, and he is set to officially take over on July 1, succeeding David Moyes.

“We came here with the idea and the thought to make a big, big noise,” Lopetegui expressed.

“That’s why we came here, and we are excited by this challenge. Of course, we are going to do our best to help the club and the team achieve the best level and reach our goals.”

West Ham’s joint-chairman, David Sullivan, believes Lopetegui’s arrival will build on the progress made in recent seasons, with the Spaniard’s successful tenure at Sevilla leading them to Europa League victory in 2020.

Despite previous challenges at Real Madrid and Wolves, Lopetegui is eager to make his mark with the Hammers.

“He was a stand-out candidate to become our head coach and I am personally delighted that we have chosen to work together,” stated West Ham’s technical director, Tim Steidten.

Lopetegui hopes to surpass Moyes’ achievements and bring a new era of success to the club, stating, “We will try to put our stamp on the club.

I feel that we have a fantastic platform… my ambition as a coach is always to be better, to achieve more and bigger aims. We are very ambitious about this.”
