You look around and realise time has passed by. Days, months, even years slipping quietly into the past, it makes you pause. Who are you surrounding yourself with? Because intentionality truly is more important than most of us realise.
The people around you shape your habits, your mindset, and even your financial decisions. If you live closely with someone, whether you like it or not, their habits start transferring onto you. You find yourself subconsciously mirroring their choices.
Imagine this: you’re in a group, thinking about spending. One friend says, I’m saving. Another says, I’m investing. Another says, The money in my account is revenue for my business, I can’t touch it. And you? You just want to splurge on something small. Something that won’t serve you in the next month. Then you pause, and it hits you: Is this really what my life has come to?
Are you interested in building wealth? If the answer is yes, then intentionality is non-negotiable. You cannot wait for some random day to wake up and decide to change your life. What matters is the intention behind your actions. Ask yourself: What do I see myself achieving in the next 10 years? What kind of life do I want to lead? Who do I want to become?

Your mindset shifts when you start reflecting on these questions. The people you listen to, the content you consume, these things matter. Watch thoughtful leaders (one of my personal favourites is Dr Olumide Emmanuel). Listen to founders, absorb advice from people who inspire you. Intentionality isn’t just a habit; it’s a lifestyle.
What makes you procrastinate isn’t laziness, it’s a lack of intentionality. You may not have a clear why, a concrete plan, or the courage to follow through. It’s time to reflect: What are you really doing with your life? The answer starts with the people you choose to surround yourself with, the decisions you make daily, and the intentions that guide them.
