Woman arrested for striking 9-year-old son with pestle during punishment

Men of Amotekun Corp, a security outfit in South-West Nigeria, have arrested a woman following complaints of assault on her 9-year-old son.

The woman, identified as Mrs Damilola Clement, a 43-year-old woman is alleged to have hit her 9-year-old son on the head with a pestle.

This happened at their residence in Efon-Alaaye, in the Akure area of Ondo state.

Confirming the incident, the Amotekun Head of Communication, Adewale Adeleye, said the incident happened following a disagreement between the mother and her son.

He added that the woman has confessed to the crime, claiming she meant to punish him for his wrongdoings.

Adeleye added that the woman has been handed to the Efon-Ekiti Police Division for further investigations.
