The organized labour (NLC and TUC) Yobe State Council said it has suspended the strike action planned to commence on Sept 28 due to the understanding reached by the congress national Negotiating Team and Federal Government.
Muktar Tarbutu, the NLC Chairman Yobe State Council made this known on Monday while addressing newsmen in Damaturu.
“As you are all aware, today 28 September 2020, the organized labour (NLC and TUC) Yobe State Council, were much ready to commence the nationwide strike action as earlier directed by the National Headquarter.
“However, we received another directive from the National Headquarter to suspend the strike with immediate effect.
“This was as a result of the congress national Negotiating Team reached an understanding with the Federal Government.”, Tarbutu said.
He also added that details of the agreement reached would be made available later in the day, and should be communicated as soon as possible.
He appealed to all workers in Yobe State to report to their duty post.
“We sincerely appreciate the total support and solidarity that was shown by the entire workforce, throughout the period of this struggle.”, Tarbutu added.
