Yobe LG orders arrest of residents found with cutlasses, other sharp objects
The Karasuwa Local Government Area of Yobe State has ordered the arrest and prosecution of anyone found with sharp objects in the community.
According to reports, the LGA passed the new regulations as a tactical effort to reduce insecurity and increase public safety in the area.

The Bye law prohibits anyone from possessing cutlasses and other sharp objects in public areas, including markets and communities within the local government jurisdiction.
Confirming the latest developments, the Director of Personnel Management for the Council, Magaji Muhammad, urged security operatives to make sure the law is followed, and anyone found wanting should be arrested and prosecuted accordingly.
An awareness campaign has also been launched to inform the public about the new law.
