Yobe State distributes farming equipments to empower communities

Yobe State’s commitment to empowering its local communities was on display as the Yobe State Emergency Management Agency (YOSEMA), in partnership with the Agricultural Development Programme (ADP), launched the distribution of farming equipment in Potiskum and Nangere local governments.
During the ceremonial launch, Dr. Mohammed Goje, the Executive Secretary of SEMA, emphasized the significance of providing farming machinery to enhance agricultural productivity and foster economic growth.
He stated, “The provision of these machines aims to improve agricultural productivity, create income opportunities, and contribute to the overall development of the communities.”
The initiative has proved beneficial to over 400 recipients, who have received ten threshing machines and eight oil extraction machines.

Dr. Goje specifically highlighted the potential of these machines in empowering local farmers and bolstering economic prospects for the region.
Furthermore, the Project Manager of the Agricultural Development Programme (ADP) encouraged the beneficiaries to make efficient use of the distributed items. Stressing the importance of responsible usage, the manager affirmed that ADP would diligently monitor the equipment to prevent unauthorised sales.
Gratitude and appreciation poured in from community leaders, traditional rulers, and recipients, extending their thanks to Governor Mai Mala Buni, SEMA, ADP, UNDP, and the people of Japan for their unwavering support.
They expressed optimism that this initiative would lead to tangible benefits for the agricultural development of their communities.
