The Yobe State Government has announced a major push to unlock its vast, untapped mineral reserves, targeting the sector as a new engine for industrial growth and massive job creation.

The announcement came at a high-level mining summit titled: “Building Strategic Partnership for Sustainable Mining and Industrial Growth,” convened by the Yobe State Mining Development Company Limited (YMDC).

Governor Mai Mala Buni declared the event a new chapter for the state, stating, “The time has come to turn this hidden potential into productive assets.”

He emphasised that strategic development could attract foreign investment and significantly boost state revenue.
