10 strongly recommended acts during Ramadan, by Tawheed Yakub 

  1. Fasting and praying with sincerity

Allah says:

O you who believe! Fasting is prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you, that you may become righteous.”
Qur’an 2:183

The Prophet ﷺ said:

Whoever fasts Ramadan out of faith and seeking reward, his previous sins will be forgiven.”
Sahih al-Bukhari 38; Sahih Muslim 760

2. Performing Qiyām (Tarāwīḥ)

The Prophet ﷺ said:

Whoever stands (in prayer) during Ramadan out of faith and seeking reward, his previous sins will be forgiven.”
— Sahih al-Bukhari 37; Sahih Muslim 759

3. Reciting the Qur’an Frequently

Allah says:

The month of Ramadan in which was revealed the Qur’an…”
Qur’an 2:185

Jibrīl (AS) used to review the Qur’an with the Prophet ﷺ every Ramadan.

4. Giving Charity

Ibn ‘Abbas (RA) said:

The Messenger of Allah was the most generous of people, and he was even more generous in Ramadan.”
— Sahih al-Bukhari 6

5. Feeding a Fasting Person

The Prophet ﷺ said:

Whoever gives food for a fasting person to break his fast will have a reward like his…”
— Jami` at-Tirmidhi 807 (Hasan Sahih)

6. Making Duʿā’

Allah says:

And when My servants ask you concerning Me, indeed I am near. I respond to the call of the supplicant when he calls upon Me.”
Qur’an 2:186

The Prophet ﷺ said the fasting person has a supplication that is not rejected.
 Sunan Ibn Majah 1753

7. Seeking Laylatul Qadr

Allah says:

Laylatul Qadr is better than a thousand months.”
Qur’an 97:3

The Prophet ﷺ said:

“Seek it in the last ten nights of Ramadan.”
Sahih al-Bukhari 2017

8. Performing Iʿtikāf

‘Aisha (RA) said:

The Prophet ﷺ used to perform iʿtikāf in the last ten days of Ramadan until he passed away.”
Sahih al-Bukhari 2026; Sahih Muslim 1172

9. Eating Suḥūr

The Prophet ﷺ said:

  • Eat suḥūr, for in suḥūr there is blessing.”
    Sahih al-Bukhari 1923; Sahih Muslim 1095
10. Hastening to Break the Fast

The Prophet ﷺ said:

“The people will remain upon goodness as long as they hasten to break the fast.”
Sahih al-Bukhari 1957; Sahih Muslim 1098
