The Kano state police command has arrested two men over the alleged killing of a Kano Emir’s palace maid accused of witchcraft.
The command’s spokesperson, Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa confirmed the arrest on Wednesday.
Mr Kiyawa a deputy superintendent of the police said the matter is still under investigation.
Sources at the Gidan Rumfa palace of the Emir said that a princess, Ummulkhair Ado Bayero accused the maid of being a witch.
Ms Bayero allegedly ordered the palace guards to beat the maid in order to force her to confess.
However, the accused maid kept denying the allegation until she died from the beatings.
