Kebbi state gov’t to involve religious, traditional leaders and media as partners in COVID-19 vaccination

The Kebbi State Deputy Governor and State Coordinator for Covid-19 pandemic, Col. Ismail Yombe Dabai (Retd), says the committee has engaged the relevant stakeholders such as Traditional rulers, Religion leaders and Media on how to educate and sensitise people of the state on the importance of COVID-19 vaccination.

The Deputy Governor who stated this while briefing newsmen in his residence in Birnin Kebbi, said that the involvement of traditional rulers, religious leaders and other stakeholders will support the committee at the commencement of vaccinating the people of the state.

He pointed out that the vaccines, which arrived the state last week will soon be used as the committee is set to follow the procedure and ensure that everyone benefited.

“We are working hard to ensure that the people are vaccinated, we have to start with the Health workers, followed by the Traditional rulers, religious leaders before others”.

Colonel Yombe Dabai assured that the vaccines would reach the 21 Local Government Areas of the state and it will be ready as soon as the committee complete all arrangements.

He urged people not to panic as the vaccine was made to help in curing and preventing any symptoms of the diseases.
