Investigation commences as Power Minister survives plane crash in Ibadan

The Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, had a close brush with death following a plane crash in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State.

The private jet operated by Flint Aero sputtered and crash-landed on Friday night at the Samuel Ladoke Akintola Airport.

The aircraft departed from Abuja airport on Friday evening and crash-landed in the bush, close to the airport runway in Ibadan at about 10 p.m.

The incident caused the aeroplane to derail the runway, leading to a crash.

A security personnel at the airport who confirmed the event to Channels Television on Saturday stated that only two people were on board the aircraft – the pilot and the Minister of Power.

Further findings indicate no fatalities, but the plane sustained substantial damage.

The Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) has begun investigating the cause of the accident.
