Sallah: Gov. Buni, Emir of Fika greet Muslims, pray for lasting peace in Nigeria

Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, and the Emir of Fika, Dr. Muhammadu Ibn Abali Muhammadu Idrisa, have urged Muslims in the state to use the occasion of Eid-el-Kabir to pray for the state and Nigeria.

The governor, in his Sallah message to the people, stated that, “The peace, security, and prosperity of the country is of utmost importance to every citizen”.

“Hence, we should intensify prayers for our leaders to be guided rightly for increased peace, security, and prosperity of our dear Country,” he stated.

Governor Buni further urged the people of the state and the North-East as a whole to continue to support and cooperate with the security operatives to ensure that peace is experienced in all quarters of the zone.

He said, “His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, has shown great commitment to fight insecurity. He should be supported and encouraged to succeed, ” Governor Buni said.

He thus encouraged the people to promote the virtues of peaceful coexistence, love, and sacrifice, which are great lessons of the Eid.

“These virtues should go beyond the Sallah season for us to build a peaceful, strong, and united country,” Buni said.

The governor also commended the security agencies for their commitment so far in ensuring that peace reigns across the state.

He also appreciated the people for their resilience in rebuilding their communities and recovering their various means of livelihood.

“As the rainy season commences, we should engage in agriculture to produce the food we need.

“Our administration would soon launch a massive agricultural revolution to make agriculture attractive, productive, and profitable to meet our food requirements and export, even to others, for economic development.

“You should therefore take advantage of the coming programme and key into the development agenda of the present administration,” the governor added.

In a similar development, the Emir of Fika and Chairman of Yobe State Council of Traditional Rulers, Dr. Muhammadu Ibn Abali Muhammadu Idrisa, urged the people to engage in farming activities early enough, embrace peace and unity as well as support the government in its drive towards creating a better country for all.

The royal father made the plea in a goodwill message delivered in Potiskum shortly after the Eid prayers.
