Police in Abuja nab 6 one chance robbers, recover stolen items

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) police command has paraded six suspected one chance robbers.

CP Benneth Igweh, the FCT police commissioner, who paraded the suspects in Abuja on Saturday, said they were arrested by operatives of the Utako Divisional Headquarters.

He said the operatives, acting on credible intelligence, trailed and arrested the six suspects while robbing some residents who boarded vehicles and tricycles around Utako and Jabi area.

He gave the names of the suspects as Abubakar Adams, Ismail Salisu, Yusuf Bello, Nasiru Sa’idi, Sani Usman and Ibrahim Kasa.

He said some exhibits, such as cutlasses, knives, charms and a phone believed to have been stolen from a victim, were recovered from them.

He reaffirmed the command’s commitment to ensure the safety of residents of the FCT. He also urged residents to continue to be vigilant and take advantage of the police emergency lines to report suspicious acts.

“He said, “The police will continue to work tirelessly to ensure that the FCT is safe and secure for all residents. We urge residents to continue to support us with useful information and to report any suspicious acts or persons to the police.”

The commissioner praised the operatives for their dedication and gallantry, adding that the command would continue to partner with residents to ensure the safety of the FCT.

He also warned criminals to desist from their nefarious activities, saying that the police would not hesitate to arrest and prosecute them
