4 sustain injuries as Samsung building collapses in Abuja
A section of the Samsung building under construction at Banex Junction, Aminu Kano Crescent, Wuse 2 in Abuja collapsed on Tuesday, resulting in injuries to four construction workers.
Nkechi Isa, head of public affairs at the Federal Emergency Management Department, reported that the incident occurred during the casting of the penthouse on the three-story structure. Fortunately, there were no fatalities, but four out of the ten workers on site sustained minor injuries.

The injured workers have been taken to Wuse General Hospital for medical treatment.
In response to the incident, Engr Abdulrahman Mohammed, the Acting Director General of the FCT Emergency Management Department (FEMD), urged developers to strictly follow building codes and prioritise safety on construction sites.
This incident follows a previous fire at the Samsung Plaza in November 2023, which was caused by welding activities near combustible materials, according to the FCT Fire Service.
