Bring banditry to an end – Dutse monarch tasks politicians

Story from Dahiru SULEIMAN, Dutse

The Emir of Dutse in Jigawa State, His Royal Highness Dr Nuhu Muhammad Sunusi, has tasked politicians to devise all means to bring to an end all issues related to security challenges confronting the country.

Speaking at his palace while receiving an APC Presidential aspirant and also Minister of Transport, Honourable Rotimi Ameachi, Sunusi stated that “the lingering issues of banditry, kidnapping almost on daily basis is alarming and deserves to be confronted drastically for its total elimination.”

The Emir who described Rotimi Amaechi as a true nationalist, non-tribalistic, and a reliable person who is honest and competent to lead Nigeria explained that the North and the whole of Nigeria cannot forget the sacrifice made by the Minister in 2015 by supporting Muhammad Buhari Presidential candidature as a matter of national interest against any tribal or regional sentiment.

“Ameachi is a bridge builder and is a man that has Nigeria at heart at all times. Therefore, I am optimistic that he has all it takes to become the next president of Nigeria for improving peace, unity and prosperity of the nation.”

The Emir prayed to Almighty Allah to guide and protect the minister as he volunteers to serve the nation in a higher capacity.

Also speaking, the chairman senate committee on Army, Senator Ali Indimi, who is also Amaechi’s Director-General, Presidential Campaign Team said that they chose to support Amechi’s aspiration because he is tested and trusted and they have confidence in him.

He then assured the emir that, if Amaechi became the next president of Nigeria more recognition and role will be given to the traditional institution for peace and national cohesion.

Speaking at the palace, Hon. Amaechi promised to ensure timely completion of the Dutse- Kano-Daura rail line and all other ongoing rail line projects to facilitate the movement of goods and services across the country.

He, however, promised to establish an open government that will listen to the advice of elder statesmen, experts and professionals on any matter of national interest.
