Tinubu officially decorates Disu as Nigeria’s 23rd police chief

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Wednesday formally decorated the newly appointed Acting Inspector-General of Police, Tunji Disu, with his new rank at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

The decoration ceremony, which formed part of the swearing-in proceedings, was attended by senior government officials as well as family members of the new acting police chief.

With the formal investiture, Disu assumes office as Nigeria’s 23rd Inspector-General of Police.

His appointment comes on the heels of the resignation of former IGP Kayode Egbetokun.

According to the Presidency, Egbetokun stepped down due to pressing family commitments.
