ImpactHER hosts global Africa women sustainability conference 2.0 in Abuja
The ImpactHER has convened women leaders, policymakers, and entrepreneurs from across the globe for the Global Africa Women Sustainability Conference 2.0, held at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre in Nigeria’s Federal Capital Territory.
The conference, which attracted participants from over 50 countries, focused on advancing women’s empowerment and positioning female entrepreneurs as key drivers in building Africa’s future.
Speaking at the opening session, the event’s co-hosts, broadcast journalist Esther Uvelo and professional compere Augustina Augustin, emphasized the importance of unity, collaboration, and innovation among women across the continent and beyond. Augustin described the gathering as more than a conference, noting that it represents “a movement to amplify women’s voices and strengthen Africa’s development agenda.”
The event brought together an array of high-profile dignitaries, including government officials, ministers, diplomats, and development stakeholders. Among those acknowledged were representatives from Nigeria’s Federal Capital Territory administration, as well as ministers and delegates from countries such as Uganda, Sierra Leone, Zimbabwe, Zambia, and Côte d’Ivoire.
International representation was also strong, with diplomats and envoys from Cuba, Jamaica, Colombia, and Cambodia in attendance, alongside city officials and mayors from The Gambia, Ghana, the United States, and the United Kingdom.
Organisers highlighted that the conference will feature panel discussions, masterclasses, and networking sessions aimed at equipping women with the skills, resources, and global connections needed to thrive in business and leadership.
Participants were encouraged to actively engage in the sessions, with a focus on learning, collaboration, and building sustainable solutions for Africa’s socio-economic growth.
