A trending video of an officer of the Nigerian Customs Service (NCS) slapping Samson Nwachukwu, an aide to the governor of Delta State, Ifeanyi Okowa, has been generating outrage on social media.
According to reports, the incident happened along the Agbor/Asaba Expressway in the state on Saturday.

Nwachukwu is a Special Adviser (SA) to the governor.
His colleague, Success Ossai, via his Facebook page has called on the Customs Service to identify the officer and take necessary action.
“Help identify this officer so he can be arrested. This Nigeria Custom officer action is barbaric and needs to be dealt with by the authority. No one deserved to betreated this way,” he said.
Also, human rights activist, Harrison Gwamnishu posted in his Facebook, ”Yesterday,custom officer and Army officer along Benin/Agbor Expressway confidently assaulted our Human Rights volunteer and Special Assistant to Delta State Governor (Ombudsman), Mr Samson Nwachukwu. #Endlmpunity
“We will protest this assault till the Authority discipline these men.”
The Nigerian Customs are yet to issue a statement concerning the incident.
