Customs intercepts ammunitions in Zaria

The Nigeria Customs Service, Joint Border Patrol Team (JBPT) Sector 4 has intercepted arms and ammunition during their anti-smuggling activities.

Neptune Prime gathered that the weapons, among other controbands were intercepted in Zaria and suspects connected with the crime were arrested immediately. The suspects were said to reveal that
the items are owned by a serving Nigerian Army officer.

The smugglers in an attempt to conceal the ammunition hid them in a sack containing rice and were uncovered by the officers based on credible intelligence.

When Neptune Prime contacted the National Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Customs Service, DC Timi Bomodi, for an official statement, he said the Service is yet to confirm the arrest. He however promised to issue a press statement when they have the full detail.
