Immigration officer nabbed in Gombe for killing man at drinking joint

Police in Gombe State have arrested an immigration officer, Ishaku Yila Manasseh, of Billiri local government area of the state for allegedly killing a man at a drinking joint in the area.
Gombe State Commissioner of Police Ishola Babaita disclosed this in a press statement issued to newsmen. He said the Billiri police division received a complaint on 10th June 2022 at about 12:30 am that the suspect stabbed the victim with a knife following an argument that ensued between them at the drinking joint.

He added that the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) and his team rushed to the scene where they succeeded in arresting the immigration officer and took the deceased to the police clinic at Billiri.
According to him, the stabbed person was confirmed dead by doctors at the clinic while the police recovered a knife as exhibit from the arrested suspect.
The commissioner who claimed that the suspect confessed to the crime said he would soon be charged to court.
