Ahmad Lawan doesn’t have enough supporters to win election – APC chieftain

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alwan Hassan, has said that Senate President Ahmad Lawan will not be able to win election as he has no camp or enough supporters around him.

Hassan made the remarks on TVC News while discussing the aftermath of Senator Lawan’s performance at the presidential primary election of the APC and the case of the senatorial ticket involving Bashir Machina.

He said, “Does the Senate President have any camps?” Can that man win an election in the senate? There were just one or two people jumping around for him. Does he have any camps?

Bashir Machina who won the APC primary for the Yobe North senatorial district for the 2023 elections had refused to step down for Lawan, who contested the APC presidential ticket and lost to former Lagos State Governor, Bola Tinubu.

However, Lawan has been listed as the APC candidate for the district, despite Machina’s insistence to not withdraw from the race since he got the votes of delegates in an unopposed election.
