Adamawa Court remands 2 boys for fighting over N200 weed

Justice Abubakar Balarabe of the Jimeta Area Court II in Adamawa State has ordered the remand of 19-year-old Sadiq Safiyanu alongside his friend, Ibrahim Dole, for fighting over Indian Hemp, otherwise called weed, and causing a public disturbance

According to News Platform, the two friends are currently in prison custody after Safiyanu macheted Dole while fighting over N200 worth of Indian Hemp.

Sadiq was said to have sent a boy to buy weed for him when his friend intercepted the errand boy and hijacked the substance.

Sadiq, who became very angry with the development, confronted his friend with a machete.

Dole, however, refused to hand over the weed and dared him to do his worst which led to a serious fight between the two of them and Sadiq macheted his friend on the hand.

The Ward Head of Hulere, Malam Yahaya, and other persons intervened and subsequently alerted the police who arrested the two boys.

Sadiq and his 18-year-old friend, Ibrahim of Hulere in Yola North LGA, were arraigned before the court on Monday by Corporal Ismail Mohammed.

The two boys entered guilty pleas for the disturbance of public peace, inciting violence, and causing hurt contrary to Sections 79, 80, and 217 of the Penal Code Law.

After the defendant’s plea, the prosecutor urged the court to adjourn the matter to enable him to avail a witness to corroborate the facts of the incident.

Having heard their pleas as well as the application filed by the prosecutor, Justice Abubakar Balarabe, the 2nd judge, adjourned the case to the 10th of January 2023, for corroboration and summary trial.
