Yobe Executive Council approves N3.1b for procurement, installation of 2880 units of solar light

Yobe State Government has approved the sum of N3,129,608,370,00 billion for the procurement and installation of double-arm solar street lights all in one 2880 units in five major towns of the state.

This was made known on Wednesday by the state commissioner of home affairs, information, and culture, Alhaji Muhammad Lawan, while briefing journalists shortly after the State Executive Council meeting held at the State Chamber of the Government House.

Muhammad Lamin said the major towns to install the solar street lights are; Buni-Yadi, Gashua, Geidam, Nguru, and Potiskum local government areas respectively.

Lamin revealed that after a wide range of issues discussed by the state executive council, they approved several projects that have a positive bearing on the lives of people in the state.

He noted that other projects approved by the executive council include; a contract for the award for the procurement of 10 units of the Toyota Camry 2020 model and 2 units of Toyota Prado Jeep V8, 2021 model to High Court Judges and Khadis of Sharia Court of Appeal at the cost of N531,000,000.00.

The information commissioner said the council also approved the procurement of 3 units of Toyota Hilux vehicles at the total cost of N131,549,133.50, the procurement of 1 unit of Toyota Hiace Bus, 2 units of Toyota Hilux 2020 model, and 1 unit of Toyota Prado Jeep
2022 model at the cost of N215,000,000,00.

“The executive council also approved the contract for the procurement of 1 unit Land Cruser Armoured Prado V8 VXL Jeep 2022 model at the total cost of N149,425,000.00;

“Approved procurement of 1 unit Toyota Land Cruiser Jeep V8 Bullet Proof VIF vehicle to Protocol unit of Government House at the total cost of N146,600,000.00

“The Council also approved the procurement of 2 Nos. Toyota 18 Seater Bus, 1 unit Prado Jeep and 1 Toyota Hilux to Liaison Office Maiduguri, Kaduna, and Abuja at the total cost of N210,470,711.20 among other numerous capital projects approved by the council”, said the commissioner.

Earlier at the executive council meeting,  awards of honour were presented to Governor Mai Mala Buni by various organisations for his achievements in the state, confirming the adage that Governor Buni is working to transform the state.
