Tinubu commends Fintiri’s ₦52bn projects during Adamawa visit
President Bola Tinubu has lauded Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Fintiri for what he described as remarkable infrastructural strides, praising his leadership, vision, and commitment to development.
Speaking during his first official visit to the state, Tinubu said he was impressed by the scale and quality of projects executed by the Fintiri administration.
“You will leave Adamawa State far better than you met it. You shocked me with what I saw and commissioned today,” the president said.
He particularly commended the construction of model schools across the state, describing them as vital tools in the fight against poverty and insecurity.
“The schools you built are weapons for fighting poverty, tackling insecurity, and boosting the nation’s economy. You deserve to be celebrated by your people and Nigerians,” Tinubu stated.

The president also expressed admiration for the newly constructed Government House office complex, noting its design and comfort.
“When I entered the new governor’s office, I felt like not coming out because it is beautifully designed and comfortably furnished. You are a leader with great vision and focus,” he added.
Tinubu urged Nigerians to embrace unity and collective responsibility in nation-building, stressing that the country belongs to all citizens and must be developed for future generations. He assured that his administration remains determined to address insecurity and build a nation Nigerians can be proud of.
During the visit, the president commissioned several projects, including the Model School along Airport Road, the eight-lane flyover on Galadima Aminu Road, and the new Government House office complex. He also laid the foundation for a permanent orientation camp for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).
In his remarks, Governor Fintiri welcomed the president and said the visit would inspire his administration to intensify its development efforts.

He disclosed that the Yola Model School, part of 21 model schools built across the state’s 21 local government areas, cost ₦24.8 billion. The eight-lane expanded Galadima Aminu Way, complete with an overhead bridge, underpass, roundabout, and dualised Gimba Road reinforced with concrete stormwater drains, cost ₦15.6 billion.
Fintiri further revealed that the expanded and remodelled State High Court Complex A and B cost ₦5.5 billion, while the automated gate and new Government House office complex were completed at a cost of ₦6.3 billion.
The governor praised Tinubu’s leadership style, urging him to remain courageous in taking tough decisions for the nation’s progress.
“However expensive a garment is, it only makes sense when tailored to fit the body. Mr. President, you are Nigeria’s best tailor. Continue to have the courage to make the toughest decisions for the good of the country. Do not waver. Do not falter,” Fintiri said.
He added that beyond politics, governance is about service to the people and reaffirmed Adamawa State’s support for the president’s administration.
The president was accompanied on the visit by serving and former governors, ministers, senators, and the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, among other top government officials.
